Interpreter requests need to be submitted at least two weeks prior to the hearing or mediation.
WCB is required to hire certified court interpreters first. If a certified interpreter is unavailable, a qualified interpreter will be hired.
WCB pays for the interpreter when interpretation services are provided by WCB. A WCB contractor must perform interpretation services for hearings.
WCB interpreters are available for mediations, upon request.
Once an interpreter request has been submitted to WCB, there is no need for a second request, if the hearing is for the same claimant.
